Introducing Leg Up!

LEG UP is a new initiative from VMDO, aiming to increase financial literacy and competence amongst Victoria’s small-to-medium music businesses.

LEG UP is:

A Grant Stream – VMDO are offering 20 grants of up to $1000 each, specifically to be spent on something that will help you control your finances better. Hardware, software, platform subscriptions, advice… the kind of micro-investment you’re always meaning to make, but always end up using the money for something else.

A Consultation Stream – VMDO have secured a number of one-hour consultations, generously offered by local companies Considered Law, Darkwave, The Gild Group and White Sky. Consultations are free. The consultations are a financial health check - you can discuss tax planning, royalty accounting, business structure, or any number of other topics with which you need help, with some of the most established entertainment accountancy and law firms in the Victoria.

90% off XERO Subscriptions – VMDO have teamed up with XERO to offer VMDO’s audience 90% off six-month XERO subscriptions for new customers. You don’t even need to apply for that. You can just have it courtesy of music's new best friends, Xero.

Applicants may apply for one or both of the streams and they will be assessed independently. Fill in the forms via the link below. All applications and consultations are limited and VMDO reserves the right to make final decisions of offers for the consultation and grants. 

This program is open only to Victorian-based music businesses. APPLICATIONS CLOSE AT 9AM ON MARCH 3rd 2025. Applications will be assessed internally. Priority will be given to small businesses who can demonstrate an opportunity for growth as a direct result of this grant. VMDO also values equity for CALD, gender, regional and First Peoples of Victoria.
