This Privacy Policy explains the personal information protection practices of VMDO. Where we refer to “VMDO”, “us”, “our” or “we”, we mean Contemporary Music Victoria Inc. trading as Victorian Music Development Office.

We may collect personal information including your name, email and postal address and credit card details from you when you send us an email, or when you provide personal information to VMDO via the Site.

VMDO is committed to protecting privacy of all Users, and we will not use any information which we collect in connection with the Site or Users other than as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. 

VMDO collects personal information primarily for the purposes of promoting future events and relevant news. As a User you are given the opportunity to opt-in to receive information from VMDO.  You may opt out of future correspondence by unsubscribing from our e-mails at any time.

VMDO also collects non-identifying User information which may include postcode, age, gender, preferences and interests. VMDO may make this information publicly available in aggregate form. 

VMDO will use its best efforts to ensure that any personal information of Users will not be disclosed to third parties unless it is required to do so by law or other regulation. 

Where User’s personal information is stored

The User agrees that the personal information they have provided to VMDO shall be stored on VMDO’s database. Such information may also be stored on the servers of our web hosting company. 

VMDO secures personally information on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. When a User’s credit card number is transmitted to another website it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. 

While personal information collected by VMDO will not be disclosed to any third party other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy, VMDO shall not be held responsible for the consequences of any ‘hacking’ of the Site or servers that may result in User’s personal information being disclosed. 

User’s right to access and update personal information

A User is entitled to request access to personal information held by VMDO that belongs to that User. It is the User’s responsibility to keep their personal information up to date at all times.

VMDO reserves the right to alter, modify, add to or change in any way, any provision of this Privacy Policy and may, in its absolute discretion, limit or expand the services available via the Site without giving prior notice to Users.
