Interactive Festival Forum - Expressions of Interest Open

Published 18 August, 2020

The Victorian Music Development Office has partnered with the International Festival Forum (UK) to deliver a virtual Victorian delegation, supporting twenty delegates to attend the online conference.

The International Festival Forum (IFF) is the leading global platform for booking agents and festival bookers, which usually takes place in London each September. In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, this year’s edition will run online as the Interactive Festival Forum (iFF), a unique two-day live stream event. iFF will see hundreds of festival and agency professionals from around the world congregate for panel discussions and presentations, speed meetings and virtual networking, agency presentations and festival booking.

Taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of September, the conference kicks off at 6.00pm AEST each evening, which is 9.00am in the UK.

Marc Geiger, WME’s former worldwide head of music, has been announced as this year’s IFF Keynote, in conversation with Goldman Sachs’ Lisa Yang. Speakers already announced include Alex Hardee (Paradigm), Martin Elbourne (Glastonbury), Maria May (CAA), Jim King and Arnaud Meersseman (AEG Presents), Roberta Medina (Rock in Rio), Peter Elliott and Matt Bates (Primary Talent), Fruzsina Szep, Fra Soler (Primavera Sound) and Tamas Kadar (Sziget).

The VMDO are now accepting expressions of interest for a funded delegate badge (worth £50) from Victorian booking agents, festival bookers/operators and festival professionals. Applicants need to be established within the music industry, with a minimum of 3 years experience and/or operating as a festival.

Applications are now closed as of 5.00pm AEST on Wednesday 26th August 2020

Applicants should make themselves available to take part in the conference live on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd September in the evening. Delegates will also have access to view panel recordings if they're unable to attend all in real-time (particularly those sessions that run late into the evening, as the festival is UK based).
