Second edition of Managing Conflict Workshop announced

Published 8 April, 2020

Due to industry demand, we have announced a second edition of our Managing Conflict Workshop, which will take place online via Zoom.us.

There are many situations in the music industry where challenging conversations and conflict can arise. Emotions can run high under pressure. In this interactive and thought-provoking workshop, you will learn to manage these interactions, deal with your own emotions and with difficult and sometimes unreasonable people and situations.

The workshop is run by Institute for Communication, Management and Leadership (ICML) and facilitated by Jill Noble, who has over 17 years of international experience in the HR and careers sector and in consulting.

The workshop was also a response to key findings in the report Career Paths: The Victorian Music Business Career Life Cycle. By providing industry professionals with opportunities to improve their interpersonal skills and address conflicts, it is likely they will be better equipped to shape healthier work environments on and offline.

Past participant Maria Amato, General Manager at Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR), said, “I am very grateful to the VMDO for including me in this invaluable workshop that provided great tips on how to navigate and manage difficult situations to obtain win/win outcomes that enable all parties to get what they want. Jill Noble the facilitator was brilliant

Fiona Duncan, Spiderbait Management & Arts & Culture Dept, City of Greater Geelong, said she was really happy with the Managing Conflict workshop.

“Clear and insightful information, delivered in a very engaging way which created some real lightbulb moments for me, especially useful in situations created by the heightened state many people are in right now. I had signed up for a face to face workshop which became a Zoom event.  It was my first time Zooming so it was a great opportunity to get over my new tech platform anxiety.  Workshop and the presenter worked so well in this online format. Highly recommended.” she said.

There are limited spots available, as this workshop will be delivered in a small group setting.

Workshop Details:

WHEN: Tuesday 5th May - 9.30am - 1.00pm.
