The Victorian Music Development Office is launching its VMDO GAMES program at Melbourne International Music Week, in order to connect more music and games professionals and open up further opportunities for collaboration in this space.

The VMDO focus on games is in response to the fact that music is an indelible element of digital games and games are very big business. From console giants to mobile chartbusters, entertainment to training and education, pure distraction to complex strategy, the games industry is multi-faceted and ubiquitous. Globally, the digital games industry generates US$60.7 billion a year, surpassing film box office, music and DVD sales - and it's growing exponentially.
