VMDO supports Victorian businesses at AXEAN Festival

VMDO recently had the pleasure of supporting a number of local businesses in attending the AXEAN Festival in Singapore. AXEAN (rebranded this year from ASEAN) is a live music showcase giving bookers, promoters and the industry-at-large the opportunity to see the leading acts from Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar and Timor-Leste.

Representatives from Lonely Lands Agency, The Hills Are Alive, Untitled Group and Sonica travelled to Singapore for three days of music and the opportunity to network with industry professionals from ASEAN and the broader Asian region. While there has been talk of Australian acts attending AXEAN in future years in order to create opportunities in some of the burgeoning SEA markets, this year was all about increasing touring opportunities for ASEAN acts in Australia.

Feedback from the delegates, both about the music on offer and the festival itself, has been uniformly positive, so don’t be surprised to see some of those acts on Australian festival stages soon.

VMDO looks forward to working with AXEAN to create more opportunities for Victorian businesses in future years.
