Announcing Lauren Mitchell and Charlotte Abroms to the VMDO team

Published 6 March, 2023

The Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) are excited to announce that Lauren Mitchell and Charlotte Abroms have joined the VMDO team.

As the new Marketing Manager, Lauren will be overseeing the marketing and communications across the VMDO, Music Victoria and Music Market, leading the development and implementation of each brand’s annual marketing strategy, as well as working collaboratively with each team on public-facing elements of projects.

From her work on major Australian festivals like Laneway, Groovin the Moo and Spilt Milk, running her own ambient and experimental record label, and curating a line-up for RCC as part of Adelaide Fringe Festival, Lauren’s work has always been centred around music, art and culture, acknowledging the integral role they play in a healthy, functioning society.

Having just welcomed her first child, Charlotte joins us as a casual advisor/consultant to help the VMDO achieve their strategic goals. Charlotte is a Victorian-based music manager who guides the careers of Australian musicians Ainslie Wills and Haarlo, Scottish musician Haiver and producers Jono Steer and John Castle.

She is a well-respected member of the Victorian music industry, with her accolades including the Lighthouse Award, Fast Track Fellowship and the Outstanding Woman in Music Awards.

Charlotte is a creative strategist who has worked in senior positions at some of Australia's most highly revered agencies. She has worked on innovative projects across arts, health, government and not-for-profit clients. She is an advocate for young women and gender-diverse music workers and has recently started running an inclusive recording studio space in Melbourne with Jono Steer.

We’re thrilled to have both Lauren and Charlotte on the team and look forward to their contributions to the team!
