Grant Writing: Workshop and Expert Sessions

Published 15 May, 2020

Since the COVID-19 crises, various Government bodies and private entities have announced a range of grant opportunities to assist impacted artists and creative businesses.

Navigating the various opportunities available and approaching a grant application can be a daunting task. In order to provide support to the music industry, the VMDO will be presenting an online workshop with Auspicious Arts Project and 1-on-1 video calls with expert grant writers.

Grants Workshop by Auspicious Arts Project

This workshop will provide an overview of some of the grants and opportunities that are currently available to assist the Victorian music industry, including:

  • Australia Council for the Arts

  • Creative Victoria

  • Local councils around Victoria

  • PPCA - Performers’ Trust Foundation

We will also spend some time discussing how to approach an application, and some useful strategies to help with your grant writing.

Thursday 21st May, 10.00am - 12.00pm AEST (via Zoom)
Presenter: Selene Bateman, Client Manager at Auspicious Arts Project

Experts in Residence – Grant Writing

As part of the VMDO’s Experts in Residence program, the VMDO will connect Victorians to grant writing experts Brie Jorgensen (Look Out Kid Management) and Adam Simmons (The Usefulness of Art). Through these 1-on-1 sessions, our experts will advise you on how to best approach the grant writing process, what funders are looking for during this period and how you can get the most out of your application. It is advised that you have a draft grant application ready to go through with the experts.
