VMDO Synchs - with Jemma Burns

For this special VMDO Links event, we are joined by local legend Jemma Burns, founder of Film & Television Music Supervision company Pulse Points. With recent credits such as Beau is Afraid (Ari Aster) and The Stranger (Netflix), Jemma is an in-demand film/TV music supervisor, working closely with directors to craft motion picture soundtracks. This involves working with score composers, commissioning original songs, plus sourcing and licensing existing material.
After ten years in London, she returned to Australia where she broke into the industry on Summer Heights High. Jemma has since gone on to work on 120- odd productions with some of the world’s most renowned production companies. These include Top of the Lake (Jane Campion), The King (David Michod), Okja (Bong Joon Ho) and the Oscar-nominated Lion (Garth Davis).
She is currently working on on Wizards! for A24 and Plan B, which stars Pete Davidson, Naomi Scott and Orlando Bloom.

Topics covered will be of interest to musicians, composers, aspiring music supervisors and anyone with an interest in the industry.

Jemma will be interviewed by Melbourne manager and Music Industry Consultant Charlotte Abroms. Following this we will open up the floor for a Q&A session with time at the end for a drink and some networking.
