VMDO and the Australian Institute of Music’s iHUB are excited to launch our Music Startup Amplifier which will champion and support music industry innovators. Through this initiative, we will offer new music startups access to knowledge, experience, industry expertise and opportunities that can help build and elevate their businesses.

Our aim is to give Victorian music startups the opportunity to thrive so they may find their place in the evolving landscape. The initiative, and programs that sit around it, have been designed to amplify the efforts of these startups, increasing their likelihood of success, and aiding in the creation of jobs and growth for the Victorian economy.

A key component of this program will be providing startups with access to venture building and industry experts during a 2-day bootcamp at Music Market in Collingwood, VIC. The bootcamp will be led by AiM’s iHUB, Australia’s leading music startup incubator. Startups will have the opportunity to meet with music industry and startup experts including Tristonne Forbes from the iHUB, Stephen Hunt from Music Health, Alli Galloway from Jaxsta, Matt Saraceni from Southern Cross Austereo and Quentin Wallace from Archangel Ventures to name a few.

15 startups will be selected to attend the bootcamp that will be packed with masterclasses, panels, workshops and opportunities to chat with industry experts one-on-one. Applications are open at 10:00am 28 June and will close at 11:59pm on 31 July. The participating startups will get to apply their learnings at the pitch event at the end of the bootcamp, and a panel of judges will then announce 3 x winners.

The winners will be awarded:

• Exclusive one-on-one opportunity to pitch to a venture capital company

• 6-week ongoing mentorship provided by AiM iHub

• $1000 voucher from Music Market Co-Work

• Other perks provided by our partners

All participating startups will have access to:

• Lean startup masterclasses

• Discussions with experienced entrepreneurs

• Information sessions on music industry mechanics (rights, copyright etc.)

•  Business mentoring sessions with experts

• Introductions to key industry people

• Exposure to investors

• The opportunity of being selected to join the iHUB accelerator program or the iHUB incubator.
