The Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated professional for the role of Program Manager. This role will be responsible for delivering programs that grow the prosperity of the Victorian music industry, in line with the VMDO’s strategic plan. It’s an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional operator with strong knowledge of the contemporary music industry and a proven track record of project delivery
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work with the VMDO Manager and broader team to implement the VMDO Strategic Plan and Business Plan - executing, programs and initiatives in order to support sustainable music careers, create sustainable business opportunities and to leverage Victoria’s global music brand.
2. Project delivery, including planning, coordination, promotion, delivery, evaluation and reporting of business development programs (e.g. workshops, networking events, etc) that build capacity and upskill the sector.
3. Oversight of the partnership program – supporting our key delivery partners to execute programs and to achieve agreed outcomes, including the compilation of key reporting data at the conclusion of each program delivery and evaluation report.
4. Liaise closely with the marketing team, relevant contractors and stakeholders to finalise program communications and marketing collateral, including general copywriting.
5. Prepare, manage and report against project budgets in conjunction with and at the direction of the VMDO Manager.
6. Represent VMDO on relevant working groups and committees, at meetings and at events, including public speaking at VMDO events.
7. Liaise with Music Market and Music Victoria teams for any collaborative events, programs and public-facing opportunities.
8. Undertake other duties as requested, in line with the position description. Some after-hours and weekend work may be required from time to time.

1. A practical knowledge of trends and issues impacting the Victorian music industry
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order effectively to represent the VMDO publicly.
3. A commitment to customer service and operational efficiency.
4. High-level event and project management expertise.
5. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
6. Ability to think critically and creatively with analytical and problem-solving skills. Solving issues through discussion, negotiation and teamwork.
7. Excellent personal computer skills, including use of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Strong knowledge and experience in the contemporary music industry
2. Significant experience in project and event management, with skills to deliver outcomes on budget and within specified timeframes. Ability to effectively plan and manage complex projects, budgets and resources.
3. Demonstrated ability to liaise with and establish positive working relationships with key stakeholders, partners and industry professionals.
4. An understanding of the need for the music industry to be safe and inclusive for people from underrepresented groups such as First Nations people, people of colour, Deaf/disabled people, and the LBGTQIA+ community.
